5Order Both the Headset and the Cable
By J. Kucera
As long as you order both the headset and the quick disconnect cable, you will have a great product. If you just order the headset, it won't work at all. Cable + Headset = Really Good Headset. (*See below for more explanation on this).

The headset is lightweight, comfortable, and with a great sound quality. There are days when I am on a series of conference calls and I wear it all day. You can flip it around to wear it on either ear.

I used to have a less expensive ($10~) Panasonic headset that was excellent but not so durable--the part where the cord connects to the phone would tend to get loose (or something happened in the mysterious inner workings) and the headset would make a static noise if I moved the phone at all--I had to keep the phone perfectly still. I decided it was time for an upgrade.

I've only had this headset for 6 weeks but it seems to be holding up well. It's built more durably and I don't think it will suffer the fate that the Panasonic did. I can't really comment on the noise canceling feature because I work in a quiet location. I would recommend this headset for anyone who needs a hard-working, easy-wearing, quality-sounding headset and is willing to pay the extra that will cost.

UPDATE: I can comment on the noise canceling feature because I've moved to a large apartment complex that frequently has loud noises outside my apartment. I can hear the noises but the people I'm speaking with on the phone cannot which is a very a good thing. For example, the other day there was construction on the roof directly above me that was so loud it made it difficult for me to concentrate, but the person on the phone could hear only me. Finally, the headset is extremely durable. I've now been wearing it daily for 2+ years and it's still going strong. If it broke I would buy it all over again but I don't think it's going to break anytime soon.

*The headset is really only half of the product, the quick disconnect cord is the other. Think of it like shoes with shoelaces--you need both parts for the shoes to stay on your feet. In this case, you need both parts to connect the sound from the phone to your ears. The headset goes to your ears but doesn't connect to the phone. The quick disconnect cord goes from your phone to the headset.

5It Works Well
By Jack Puglis
This noise cancelling headset lives up to it's promise. Occasionally, people outside my office who are having a conversation inadvertently grow loud. In the past, people who I'm speaking with on the telephone have commented that they could hear the voices. That does not happen with this noise cancelling headset. Callers also cannot hear my radio, and tell me that my voice is clear.

5Lightweight, clear reception, good noice canceling headset
By Waldo
Great headset. I use it on the Cisco 7940 IP phone and it pairs well. Just need to make sure you also have the quick-disconnect cord.

5Pricey, but great product
By T. Larson
I've had this headset for a couple of months now, and I love it. The only thing I don't love is the price - it' really expensive! I bought an adaptor for it so that it works with my Avaya 5410 Desk phone - I definitely recommend getting such an adapter if you have an office phone, as it simplifies the interaction with the desk phone (p.s. - get the electronic adapter, not the adapter that physically lifts the handset). Note that Jabra has several models for this type of headset - the one I bought works with cell phone, desk phone, and computer (via USB), but other models work with just 1 or 2 devices. Make sure you know what you're buying.

Let's get into the details.

When my desk phone rings, all I have to do is pick up the headset, put it on my head, and start talking. To hang up, simply put the headset back in the charger. There is no need to actually touch your desk phone, provided you get the add-on adapter.
When my cell phone rings, all I have to do is pick up the headset, put it on my head, and start talking.
I don't use skype, so I can't comment on that, but my understanding is the experience is similar, and that the headset knows when someone is calling you on Skype.
I use Google Chat for making outgoing phone calls. To do this, I pick up the headset, put it on my head, hit the computer icon on the touchscreen, then go to google chat, type in a phone number and click the connect button in google chat.

I also use it for listing to audio on my computer, usually webinars and training videos. It seems to have a power saving mode where if there is silence for 4-5 seconds, it will cut the audio off, and it takes a second or so for the audio to come back on when noise starts playing from the computer again. This results in losing that second of audio. Not a big deal for me, but it might bother you. There may be a way to turn off the power save mode, but it doesn't bother me, so I haven't dealt with it.

As for the physical hardware: the base is compact, but sturdy. The equipment feels like it is well made. It doesn't slide around on the desk. You can use the headset with just the earpiece (like most bluetooth headsets) or with an over-the-head adapter. I found the over-the-head adapter to be more comfortable, but you can do it either way and it doesn't effect the functionality. You can adjust the volume by sliding your finger up and down the earpiece - it's a slick way to do the volume adjustment.

The setup is a bit involved - I'm in IT, so it didn't bother me, but if you have trouble getting your DVD player, receiver, and TV all hooked up, you might want to get someone to help you get everything connected. The instructions are great, but there are a lot of wires to plug in.

I haven't tested out the range too far - I've walked to the kitchen, which is about 35 feet away and through a couple of walls, and the audio quality didn't flutter at all. Audio quality has been perfect, as far as I can tell. There have been some issues in quality when using google chat, but I'm pretty sure that's due to the VoIP connection with google, not the headset.

I haven't had the battery run out yet, but the longest I've used it at once has been 2-3 hours and it hasn't died on me yet, so it's good enough for me.

Overall, I was looking for one headset that I could use for everything - computer, cell phone, and desk phone, and I wanted one that was wireless. This headset, while expensive, is just what I was looking for.

Due to the cost, I don't plan to ever let this leave my office, even when I'm on a call and need to leave in my car. I just don't want to have to buy a replacement headset.

-----------------

Update!

I've had the headset for 20 months now, and it's still working very well. The battery in the headset seems to be holding up well, too. I had a ridiculously long conference call today, and the battery lasted for 3 hours of continuous use before it died. I am pleased.

5More than just Bluetooth
By T. Yogerst
For those of you shopping for just a bluetooth headset, there may be a bit of sticker shock. But there's more here than meets the eye.
First of all, this is a long-range, cordless headset for a business phone. For comparison, its on par with the GN 9350 series with a range of 100ft when used with the base connected to your office phone (NOT Bluetooth). For remote-answering, you may also want to check out a GN1000 lifter or an electronic hookswitch (EHS) for your make/model phone system. These types of headsets are usually around $200 for decent models with noise-cancellation.

Then throw Bluetooth into the mix. With a tap on the screen, or holding the earpiece button for a few seconds, the Bluetooth mode is engaged. Note that Bluetooth has a range of 80ft or less, so this is more limited at the workplace. But now you have the same headset working with your cellphone or laptop (provided they have BT capability).

So you're at work using this headset with your main phone, and your cellphone rings. Click over to BT mode and answer it. Or you have a call on Skype, voice-messenger, etc., so switch over to PC and start talking. Most office folks have two or three headsets for these functions. This one handles it all in style.

We use them for people who work from home frequently and/or need to be mobile while at the office. Hands-free without switching earpieces all day long.

5Incredible headset and bargain!!
By D Miller
I'm in the financial services field and have used headsets since the mid-90s in lieu of holding a receiver. Years ago the industry-standard was Plantronics and they were excellent however GN Netcom has completely up the stakes. I got an e-mail from hello direct advertising this exact product for over $400, by any standard that's a very expensive headset so I did a little research and found out that it does so much more than just cut the wire from your desk phone. You can toggle by touchscreen between cell phone, desk phone, and soft phone making it an amazingly versatile unit. The sound quality is incredible and it's extremely comfortable to wear. The best part, I ordered this on Amazon for $233 delivered next day!!! Hello direct is twice the price, as were most of the competitors. I have no idea how Amazon gets these deals but I check here before I buy anything check online. Amazon has saved me thousands of dollars on office equipment and on items for around the house.

The bottom line is that this headset can replace all headsets you may be currently using with nothing more than the touchscreen toggle. For under $250 you can't go wrong.

2Cord was too short
By Kerianne Waldrop
We ordered headsets from another maker and the cord was two feet longer. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this product. Also, had a hard time getting headset to activate. Not sure about other folks phone systems but we use the Mitel 5320 and you dial 317 to activate the headset. Then use the speaker button to pick-up and hang-up. Hope this helps others!

5Works as advertised
By Big Elmo
The set plugged right into my Mitel 4025 and worked right away. Ear sound quality is great and people on the other end say I sound fine. The headband is adjustable and fits comfortably without being too tight or falling off.

The cord is 10 feet but since it is coiled the working length is less but it is perfect for a desk phone. If I need an other one I won't hesitate to get another.

3Short cord, worthless user guide
By w.wahiker
This is a very basic headset with a short cord. The "user guide" is completely worthless unless you can read Japanese as there is not a single instruction written in English.

5Works great - and a lot cheaper than alternatives
By kristin zauel
Connected it to both computer and telephone headset input (Talkswitch 350i IP Phone). Was able to switch between using it for telephone headset to computer headset (for video chat with google hangouts). Looks a lot like the plantronics one I used several years ago in a telemarketing type environment, but this has more options for connecting it to the computer in addition to the phone system. Power takes 2xAA or 9V DC input (not included). Can connect a separate 3.5mm headphones or microphone instead of the included. I'm not a big fan of the over-the-ear thing - it feels kind of weird to me, I might buy the optional over-the-head thing. I tried other non-amplified headsets, but they didn't work with the office phone system, so I head to get one that amplified the mic. It has a dial to adjust the mic volume. Also an on-off switch to turn off power to the unit, to save batteries.

5Compucessory Headset Amplifier
By Danny A. Chase
Compucessory Headset Amplifier .. I love this little device. My wife and I use it to boost the signal coming from our Ps3 while playing online games with an open mic. It does a great job on this type of application. While we wear our headsets and turn down the tv volume we experience no feedback etc. Im sure the device would work great on a telephone amplification situation. Would recommend this inexspensive product for small amplification situations.

1Useless, you get what you pay for.

Worthless. You get better sound and volume without using this amp. Which is what I did. I returned it almost immediately.
